To all Lion fans, if you are looking for a QUALITY place to tailgate before the next Lion loss, I HIGHLY Suggest heading over to Eastern Market! It was my first time down there before the Lion debacle against the Bears, but what a great atmosphere. There was plenty of food, wacky activities, and it really had a college-like feel to the tailgating experience.
Check it out, and for more details, go to detroittailgate.com.details

I just wanted to put my props in for the Detroit Lions fans we tailgated with.
They came exactly as advertised... classy, good people the exact opposite of the Tiger fans we came across when we went to a baseball game there several years ago. Detroit fans are the best fans in the NFL bar none in my experience of tailgateing in opposing teams backyard. They love their team(they have to after all the crap they've been thru) and they'll treat you with respect if shown the same. In fact, I ended up watching the 2nd half of the game w/ a bunch of them next to my RV and even though we were getting our clocks cleaned, they weren't obnoxious about it. Great job and kudos to Kevin and his Detroit Tailgating crew. You guys are top notch.

I've been to Cincy, Indy, St. Louis, Cleveland, Denver, Arizona, Buffalo, Chicago, and now Detroit and I must say that you guys really know how to tailgate. This was the best tailgate I've ever seen (besides Denver) - although my opinion could be a biased one.
Kevin and Steve (sorry if the names are wrong, I'm horrible with names), thank you so much for your hospitality. You guys are all class and really do have this tailgating thing down to a science. I started laughing earlier in the week when you stated that the tailgates had to be great so you had a reason to go to the game. I can honestly say I'm not sorry I came to Detroit even though we lost 44-7. The ride home always sucks after a loss, but for some reason, I didn't mind the 300 miles as much on Sunday night. The tailgate was that great!

I remember reading somewhere that Detroit was ranked 31 in Tailgating. Who ever wrote that articule has never been in Lot 1 @ the Eastern Market. Guys we had an awesome time. Great food, great beer, mixed with Amazing People. The band kicked ass. Al Poes sausage and Wings kicked Ass Baby and the Lions won. All ten of us (yes even Mike, the guy that was hung over from the night of partying at Jacoby's) had a great time. I will definitely be back, and will bring the wife since she is jealous of all the fun we had.
You guys definitely know how to tailgate, as I mentioned to Kevin, We have been to Buffalo, Cleveland, Cinicinnati but so far We rank Detroit #1. And will keep you updated on that status.
Thanks again Al, Ambassador, Fowler for all you recommendations you were all bang on. You really made our time in Detroit great. I'll send some pics soon,
Cheers,
Ugo

First timer here! This was my first tailgate party and man, did you guys throw a great one. I am friends with Slight Return and came down to support them. My friends and I had a blast. Thanks so much for the cool attitude and for sharing your food with us. We did tip generously, and thanked everyone for their good will. We had no idea that this kind of stuff went on.
I have been watching this band for 10 years, and it was great to see them perform is such a welcoming atmosphere. I was running the video camera and many of you kept commenting to me how great they sounded. I passed the message on to the band.
Again, I had such a great time hanging with you all Sunday. My friends and I are going to make this an annual event. It is not very often that the 6 of us get together. Hope to see Slight Return back next year!
You guys are wild and crazy! LIVE IT UP!

Thanks for the hospitality yesterday.
Al was a gentlemen and a scholar as well, let us grill up some of our meat when we blew the propane on our little BBQ.
The set up you guys have is 5-star, no question, and the band was great.
Very impressed.

Hi fellas,
My name is Matt and I introduced myself at the home opener. I just wanted to let you guys know how much fun I had. What a killer idea for a tailgate party...BANDS! Being a local musician and a HUGE Lions fan, I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised to find you guys parked right next to my friends RV. I had a nice chat with Bob about your Travco, cuz I have a 74' in the same colors.
Also, I mentioned to Kevin about the local singer Ty Stone and a few other band connections I had. Send me a line if you guys have any cancellations this year, or are looking for good local bands to play next year...or perhaps a playoff game. I'm not some sleezy manager or promoter or anything, just a local band rat that's been playing around the scene for fifteen years or so and wanna do what I can to help make Detroit a fun place to be.
Hope to see you this weekend (Chicago),
Matt

Good morning Kevin,
I just wanted to send you a ‘thank you’ message for setting up our tailgating experience w/ the Tubgaters. They are a great group of guys (and gals) and we had a great time. We met up w/ Bill North and he took care of welcoming us and introducing us to everyone. It was a great experience!
I also saw that you shouted us out on your main page. Thanks for the love.....LOL. Just got done looking at the pics and it looks like you guys had as much fun as us. We took a few pics and once my friend sends them to me, I’ll see what I can send you.
Thanks again and lets go Lions for the #1 pick!

Just getting back to Chicago after Superbowl Sunday and a super tailgate. Just wanted to send out a thanx to those that made that pre-game tailgate such a great time. (I was the guy wearing the Chicago Bears hat and sweatshirt). By the time we got back to motor home after the game, it was snowing, really cold and people were packing it up or had already dispersed. So for those who we didn’t say goodbye to, just saying thank you for a real good time. Hope to see you again.

Hey ,
Just want to say thanks to you guys. You saved our tailgating experience. My brother and I left the bottle of bourbon sitting on the table. We came over to your tent and immediately were handed a shot, and were able to get some beers.
Thanks
Kevin and Terence O’Brien
