First-timers should enter Ford Field from the southwest at the main front entrance for the full experience. Once inside, be sure to walk down St. Antoine Street and along the old Hudsons warehouse built circa 1920 that was incorporated into the stadium. Everyone from the Purple Gang, to Ella Fitzgerald, to John Lee Hooker has walked that street.
If you're in a hurry and don't have time for siteseeing, pick a door and go in. There are many entrances and the wait generally isn't too bad.
The field sight-lines are great and the two video boards and JBL sound system are state-of-the-art.
Lions fans are generally benign but drunk. Opposing team's fans can expect some creative and sometimes vulgar ribbing and heckleing, but in general shouldn't expect any beers thrown on them or physical fights. To diffuse an agressive Lion, just say, "I heard Drew & Mike want to sponsor cheerleaders..."
Beer Tip
If you see a line, keep looking. There are plenty of beer vendors around and you can usually find a much shorter line in a relatively short distance. Beers can range from $5-$9 depending on size and kind.
Barthroom Tip
Same as the tip for beer. If you see a line, keep going. There are plenty of pissers around the stadium, and chances are there's little to no line only 100 ft away.
