Detroit tailgaters know their chili, and this contest brings out the best around. If you think you have what it takes to win, bring your bowl of chili to the center of Tailgate Lot 1 in the Eastern Market, and let the judges decide.

No strict rules for this competition. Beans or no beans, steak or venison, it's all good to us. Stop by and drop off a sample for the judges, or bring a crock pot full and hang out for the day. We have plenty of electricity to keep everything hot.

No entry fee. Just fill out your name and email address and get a judging number.

Judging will begin at 10:30 am, and a winner will be announced at 11:30 am.

Winner will be determined by three judges with no strict criteria. Simply the best chili wins.

Grand prize is a Camp Chef Keg Roaster.
