Chris Merrill and his
"Venison Chili"
This year's competition was fierce, and after much deliberation by the judges, the Fourth Annual Detroit Tailgate Chili Champion is Chris Merrill and his masterful and tender venison chili.
A hearty chili with a great aroma, no lingering aftertaste, and large chunks of perfectly cooked venison, it is easy to see why this is a favorite around deer camp or the parking lot.
Thanks to all twelve chefs who entered the competition and congratulations to Chris who received a Camp Chef Keg Roaster for his winning entry.
The People's Choice Award

Congratulations to Matt and Brendan and the boys of the Slaughterhouse Live, whose "Slaughterhouse Chili" entry won the coveted People's Choice Award and took home an authentic tailgate grill set.
