2006 Detroit Tailgate Chili Champion
Stacy Starr & Her "Four-Star Chili"

We had a record number of 16 entries into our second annual Detroit Tailgate Chili Cook-Off and it was a blazing success. One chili rose to the top as the lot's favorite chili, and that was Stacy Starr's "Four-Star Chili," which could actually be served in "Five-Star" restaurants. She added the unique ingredient of potatoes to her chili that made it a hearty and very tasty chili you could eat all day.

We had a number of newcomers enter the contest after reading about it on the web and we welcome everyone to participate next season for the 2007 championship.

Honorable mentions go to last year's champion, Boom-Boom, newcomers Al Poe and Chaz, and Bad Weather Fan's burning-hot entry, "Asso Enfuego."

Stacy, send me an email and give us your recipe (modified, if you don't want to divulge your secrets). You can also let me know if I'm spelling your name wrong. Someone really should be taking notes on this kind of stuff.

We were also interviewed by Chef Leon for his community access cooking show. He asked about our tailgating history and how the chili cook-off came to be.
